Chiropractic Adjustments
Chiropractic adjustments are a key component of our approach to restoring and maintaining optimal spinal health. We utilize a variety of techniques tailored to meet your specific needs, with a primary focus on the diversified technique. This method involves precise, high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) adjustments performed by hand to effectively restore proper alignment and movement in the spine.
For patients who may require a gentler approach, we also employ the Activator, a specialized small adjusting device that delivers controlled, low-force impulses to targeted areas. As skilled chiropractors, we carefully assess and identify restrictions in the motion of your spinal segments, as these restrictions can contribute to decreased range of motion, muscle tension, inflammation, and pain.
By restoring joint mobility and re-training the surrounding muscles, our adjustments help your body function at its best, reducing discomfort and promoting overall well-being.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a time-honored holistic health practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This technique involves the precise insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate natural healing processes. While the procedure is relatively pain-free, its effects can be profoundly beneficial.
Acupuncture works by enhancing circulation, promoting the body's natural ability to repair itself, and reducing excess scar tissue and damage. Although it is particularly effective for pain relief, acupuncture can also address a wide range of other symptoms, contributing to overall balance and well-being.
Trigger Point Therapy/MRT
At The House Chiro, we recognize that optimal health involves both the skeletal and muscular systems. Alongside spinal adjustments, we address muscle health through specialized techniques like Trigger Point Therapy and Manual Release Technique (MRT).
MRT is a focused approach that targets tight and restricted muscles by applying deep pressure while the patient actively engages the muscle. This active participation enhances the effectiveness of the treatment, helping to release tension, improve mobility, and alleviate discomfort. By addressing both the bones and muscles, we ensure a comprehensive approach to your overall wellness.
Gua Sha (scraping/IASTM)
Gua Sha, derived from the Chinese word for “scraping,” is a therapeutic technique that uses a specialized tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin, effectively relieving muscle tension and pain. In the United States, this practice is often referred to as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), reflecting its growing popularity and application in modern therapy.
The instruments used in IASTM are carefully designed to target myofascial adhesions and scar tissue, promoting better mobility and reducing discomfort. By mobilizing these areas, Gua Sha and IASTM help to restore normal function, alleviate pain, and enhance overall muscle health.
Cupping
Cupping is an ancient practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, much like acupuncture, and has been used for thousands of years to promote healing and well-being. Unlike other forms of manual therapy that compress the tissues, cupping uses a partial vacuum created by specially designed cups to gently decompress the underlying tissue. This decompression causes the skin and muscle to lift and stretch under the cup, stimulating increased blood flow to the affected area.
The enhanced circulation helps to relax muscle tension and encourages the movement of toxins away from deeper tissues toward the surface, where they can be more easily eliminated by the body. Cupping is a powerful tool for relieving muscle tightness, improving blood flow, and supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes.
Telehealth
We offer Functional Medicine consultations, either as an add-on to your chiropractic visit or as a separate HIPAA-compliant telehealth appointment. We primarily work with InsideTracker, an easy-to-use platform that evaluates your healthspan across 10 key areas like heart health, metabolism, and cognition. Through lab testing, we provide scores for each area and offer personalized recommendations within the app. You can also integrate fitness trackers and DNA analysis for deeper insights.
In your consultation, we review lab reports and provide supplement, dietary, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to your needs, helping you achieve optimal health from the comfort of your home.
